- Step 2 · Make the Fairy Stone — Collect 10× Toad Lord Back Skin from Toad Lord — Bring Toad Lord Back Skin, Coal, Charcoal, Silver Nugget, Gemstone D to Maria — Dion Castle Town — Kill Toad Lords in the Cruma Marshlands for 10 Toad Lord Back Skins (20 for the deluxe list) and bring them to Maria in Dion with 10 Coal, 10 Charcoal, 3 Silver Nuggets and a Gemstone D. The deluxe stone needs 5 Silver Nuggets, a Gemstone C and a Stone of Purity instead.
- Step 3 · Return to Cronos — Talk to Cronos — Hunters Village — Show the Fairy Stone to Cronos, who sends you to Guard Byron.

- Step 5 · Find Fairy Mimyu — Bring Fairy Stone to Mimyu — Talk to Mimyu — Hunters Village — Give the Fairy Stone to Fairy Mimyu in the Enchanted Valley and agree to find stolen eggs; she gives you Juice of Monkshood. A Deluxe Fairy Stone can break if you fight the valley's monsters.
- Step 6 · Choose a drake or wyvern — Bring Juice of Monkshood to Exarion — Bring Juice of Monkshood to Zwov — Bring Juice of Monkshood to Kalibran — Bring Juice of Monkshood to Suzet — Bring Juice of Monkshood to Shamhai — Oren Castle Town — Give the Juice of Monkshood to one of the egg mothers: Exarion, Zwov, Kalibran, Suzet or Shamhai. She gives you her scale.
- Step 7 · Recover 20 eggs — Collect 20× Egg of Drake Exarion from Leto Lizardman Warrior — Collect 20× Egg of Drake Zwov from Marsh Spider — Collect 20× Egg of Drake Kalibran from Road Scavenger — Collect 20× Egg of Wyvern Suzet from Breka Orc Overlord — Collect 20× Egg of Wyvern Shamhai from Dead Seeker — Oren Castle Town — Kill the thieves for your mother's eggs (Exarion: Leto Lizardman Warriors, Zwov: Marsh Spiders, Kalibran: Road Scavengers, Suzet: Breka Orc Overlords, Shamhai: Dead Seekers) until you have 20, then return them to her. She lets you keep one egg.
- Step 8 · Return to Mimyu — Talk to Mimyu — Hunters Village — Bring the egg to Mimyu to hatch it and receive a Dragonflute; the egg's mother affects which hatchling you are likely to get.
